What was the inspiration behind Howdy Price Sells The Holidays?
LP: I’m a fan of the old car dealership commercials that would air when I would skip school and watch a three episode block of I Love Lucy. The Cal Worthington “Go See Cal” commercials were a favorite in particular. They were so catchy, and such a time capsule for that period. The desire to do something similar was strong!
Why have a salesperson character sell us holidays?
LP: I think Robert Ramos is the funniest person on the planet, and I love his Howdy Price character. So the desire to mash him up with the holidays was a no brainer! Howdy could sell a ketchup popsicle to a person in white gloves, but can he sell you on spending time with your family?
What was your favorite part of this production?
LP: Any time I get to work with Mr. Ramos on any production is always an amazing experience, and I know we are gonna laugh the entire time, which is tough now that we are recording audio. It’s a struggle to keep quiet while he does his thing. We made a ton of awesome GIFs, Clips, and stickers with this one!
