Tien Tran (she/her) is an LA-based comedian, actor, and writer. Her stand-up has been featured on Comedy Central’s Taking the Stage and at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal as part of the 2019 New Faces of Comedy showcase. You can see her next in Hulu’s upcoming How I Met Your Father.

Tell us a little about your Creators Club project.
For my Creators Club project, I wanted to make a series of clips to help lighten the load of New Year’s Resolution anxiety by encouraging folks to set the bar REALLY low after such a hard year (or two or twenty). I hope people find comfort in lowering their expectations ❤.
What are three words you would use to describe your creative style?
Vietnamese gay clown.
What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?
Three homemade Vietnamese meals all al fresco
What has been a recent source of inspiration for you?
My Chicago comedy friends. They’re all so funny and so hardworking. There are too many to list, but I love them all dearly.
What are a few examples of your work you are most proud of or have been your favorite to create?
Comedy Central Refinery 29 Stand-up, and getting to shoot Comedy Central sketches with my Second City family.
What was your favorite part of your Creators Club project? Favorite Clip?
Without a doubt, the absolute best part of this whole process was getting to work with my dear friend Tyler Davis (@tyleradav). He’s an incredible filmmaker (and actor/comedian/writer), and I really couldn’t have done any of this without him. As for my favorite clip, I’d have to say “car warranty”. It was the first thing we shot and prancing around a public park with Tyler was a true joy.
