Editor’s Picks: The Top GIFs and Clips From the 2021 American Music Awards

From eye-popping performances (plural!) by BTS to Cardi B’s debut as host, this year’s American Music Awards ceremony was a true celebration of pop culture, gifting us with countless moments to be shared via GIFs and Clips.

As usual, we covered all of the top moments from this year’s American Music Awards live on the official AMA GIPHY channel. Need a quick recap of this year’s ceremony? Here are some of the top GIFs and Clips from Sunday night.

BTS

K-pop sensation BTS won big at this year’s AMAs, taking home three awards, including artist of the year. The group also dominated our list of the top 10 most-viewed GIFs from the night.

This moment from their closing performance of “Butter” was the most-viewed GIF from the ceremony, with 21.7 million views as of Tuesday.

BTS also took home the favorite pop song award for “Butter.” This moment from their performance also topped our list and was the third most-viewed GIF of the night, with 13 million views as of Tuesday.

BTS’ RM took to the mic to accept the group’s award for artist of the year. One GIPHY editor called this moment “endearing.”

Also, this moment from BTS’ acceptance speech was the sixth most-viewed GIF from the night, with 7.7 million views as of Tuesday.

2021 AMA Performances

If there’s one thing the AMAs are known for, it’s the performances. This year, GIFs from performers nabbed several spots on our most-viewed GIFs list, from Tyler the Creator to one Chloe Bailey.

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak kicked off Sunday night’s show as Silk Sonic, performing “Smokin’ Out the Window.” This GIF from their performance was the second most-viewed GIF of the night, with 15 million views.

German singer Zoe Wees made her AMA debut Sunday night, performing “Girls Like Us.” This GIF was the fourth most-viewed GIF with a cool 12.3 million views.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin also showed up to jam with BTS for “My Universe.” This GIF was the ninth most-viewed GIF.
