Everyone knows that Adele and Beyonce walked away with some of the biggest awards of GRAMMYs night, but who was the big winner with GIPHY users? Team GIPHY analyzed the search data during the award ceremony and found some interesting results!

  1. Searches for Chance the Rapper rose over 400 x the 2016 search per minute average!

2. Searches for Bruno Mars rose over 130 x the 2016 search per minute average!

3. Searches for Adele rose over 68 x the 2016 search per minute average

4. Searches for David Bowie rose over 58 x the 2016 search per minute average

5. Searches for Katy Perry rose over 39 x the 2016 search per minute average

6. Searches for Prince rose over 22 x the 2016 search per minute average

7. Searches for Beyonce rose over 20 x the 2016 search per minute average*

8. Searches for Rihanna rose over 8 x the 2016 search per minute average*

9. Searches for Hug spiked at 129% over the 2016 search per minute average

10. Searches for Excited spiked at 125% over the 2016 search per minute average

*One thing to keep in mind when looking at Beyonce and Rihanna’s relatively smaller percentage jumps — those are two of the highest search requests GIPHY gets on a day to day basis. The fact that those two already incredibly high numbers rose even higher is a testament to how many people were searching for them last night!
