After 13 days and 539 events, the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games are over.
Long-delayed by the pandemic, this year’s Games were like no other, featuring a record number of Paralympians and delivering some spectacular moments, from Sophie Pascoe’s hard-won gold medal win to the final closing ceremony. This year, we worked with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to bring you all of these moments (and more!) from the Games in GIFs and Clips on the official IPC GIPHY channel.

GIPHY Arts commissions hundreds of artists a year, all of whom do impeccable work. Today, we are happy to spotlight GIPHY Artist Gisselle Yepes (They/Them) and share a Q&A that dives deeper into the creative process.
Gisselle Yepes is a Puerto Rican and Colombian poet and storyteller from the Bronx. They love sharing stories of the Caribbean and extensions of/from the Caribbean, like ones that exist in the Bronx, in bodegas, with our grandmothers, and our homes.

Tell us a little about your Creators Club project.
My Creators Club project invites you to revel in the pure nostalgia of the 70s & 80s fluff. From the creative direction, I took to styling my outfits and the fonts used represent elements of the era in which rollerskating found its glory days.
We’re incredibly excited to release GIPHY Studios’ first ever synth disco opera! Blobs in Space is about connecting to your loved ones in the time of Covid-19. We dove into exploring a new format with this one-minute animation short to give the world a little story that says it’s ok to laugh, to cry, or even burst into dance because we’re all in this together.
